What Riders are Saying

Stephanie Y., Toronto Canada

Picture
The FitRider Pro program is a great workout for all fitness levels, from those just starting their fitness journey to seasoned riders looking for an off-season cross-training program that will prepare them for the upcoming riding season. The daily workout videos are easy to follow, and at around 30 minutes a day, the workouts are quick and fun, and easy to fit into your day.

I particularly enjoyed the HIIT days and the lower body and core exercises. The custom app that accompanies the program is user-friendly and can be used to track the FitRider workouts, as well as other activities, and even has a nutrition tracking option.

I found my Coach responsive and using the app really helps to track my progress as I work towards my weight loss and strength goals.

I recommend this program to anyone wanting to get into better shape for riding season.  A FitRider is a better rider!

"FitRiders has built a bridge between my passion of riding motorcycles and the value of exercise.  My fitness level is improving on a daily basis and the results are worth the effort.  I think of this app as an essential tool in my adventure kit."

Let me introduce myself,  I am a long time (decades) off road rider that has found it much more challenging to stay in riding in the last few years especially after the 50 mark. Combined with not enough time to ride and just recovering from a twice broken foot this summer and fall (over 4 months in an air cast), I needed something that I could use as part of my recovery but also fit into a daily life that includes business travel and many hours behind a desk.  Karl started the program for me in a way that accelerates my recovery while building core strength and improved flexibility.

Every few weeks, my program gets a little tougher and I know I will receive the direct but friendly email reminding me that I have missed too many days or in other words, kicks my butt back into action.

As well, for me I needed to make some adjustments to the food I was eating. I am enjoying the FitRiders recommended nutritional program.

In a nutshell, my energy is up and I am getting stronger.  Given the foundation over the last few months, I was able to return to my local boxing club, which is something I love.  Boxing is a great compliment to Fit Riders.

Perhaps a quick trip to Baja will be in the cards this winter?

The FitRider Pro program is the perfect way of keeping fit.

Not only on the bike but in general.

It's only thirty minutes each morning and you'll notice it has an energizing effect.

Even with a busy lifestyle, it's easily combined.

I'd recommend it to everyone, not only adventure riders.

I am planning a 3000+ kilometer motorcycle adventure ride with my Honda CB500X from Toronto across the US and north towards the Yukon.  The program I am following is custom designed and tailored to my strengths and weaknesses based on an initial assessment.  The Plus program keeps me accountable in all aspects of my training plan, my strength workouts, flexibility and nutrition planning and implementation. I find that I am always looking forward to the workouts that have been put together for me. The movements are challenging but very realistic. Also, the nutritional plan is simple, easy to follow and I have never felt better. I am also much more aware of what I am eating every day thanks to the nutrition tracking feature of the FitRiders App.

More than ever, I am excited and confident that my riding adventure is going to be a fun and successful trip! I know that I will have the strength and endurance that it takes to ride every day without feeling completely drained once I get off my motorcycle. Not only have the FitRiders Plus workouts been instrumental in preparing me for my upcoming adventure but I am enjoying the additional benefit of feeling stronger in my day to day activities and work!

Following an accident earlier this year on a road bike, and unable to ride a dirt bike for the latter part of the year due to health issues, I was shocked at how utterly unfit and out of practice I was returning to the saddle.

The first ride back was very difficult on a wet slimy rock-fest with little traction. Here in the UK at its best, heavy rain and mud is normal all day long. I was well aware that I was out of practice, stiff, and slow making a lot of mistakes. It was not a great experience and the more tired I got the more mistakes I made. By the end I was totally shattered to the point that I almost considered quitting riding off-road completely.  Good riding friends dragged me and my bike up un-rideable rocks and we manhandled bikes up rock steps and greasy rock gullies. They got me through and made me continue riding the next day as well.

When I was offered the chance to try this online programme I thought ‘okay, I’ll give it a shot’. The system is slick and professional with a well-designed and intuitive app. You can also access online if you cannot use the app on a tablet or phone.

The best thing for me has been the flexibility of the entire package. You can record biometrics such as weight or waist size. (Both of which have dropped since starting). You can also record food intake and much more information, calories used, exercise records and include other sessions such as a run or cycle ride are good examples. I haven’t recorded everything, but if you are a number cruncher and want to analyse these things yourself there is more than enough info to keep you entertained.

The straightforward easy to understand exercises build up in intensity as you progress through the weeks and months. The basis of these exercises focuses on key muscle groups, maintaining flexibility and even works on your balance. Having formerly been a bit of a yoga devotee who like some people stopped because I didn’t have time to go to classes or find a teacher, I find the on-line do anywhere sessions a bonus. However, don’t think you need to write this off as new age yoga nonsense, these are the basis for the strong flexible body that you need.

My starting level of fitness and flexibility was really quite low, but the exercises started gently enough to get me moving and moved at a pace that kept me interested and not out of my depth. Most exercises are body weight exercises and require little equipment. A set of dumbbells or resistance bands (easy to hide in a suitcase), a yoga mat and 15 minutes a day are the minimum requirement to begin with.

As the exercises are delivered via video clips it’s easy to pause the sessions if you can’t manage the whole exercise session in one. For example, a well-timed pause in the abdominal exercises let me get my breath back and finish the session. (A few weeks later and I don’t need that pause, but it’s nice to know it’s there!).

Like most people I have to work for a living and sometimes have to stay away. During these times it’s great to have the ability to move the scheduled stretches and exercises to suit me. When I haven’t got the time for an upper body session as well as the stretches, I can move it to the next day. The stretches set you up for the day or are a good way of winding down after the working day. I can always do the stretching and yoga in a hotel room using the app, and it reminds you not to hit the hotel bar too hard for after dinner drinks to help maintain a better balance of fun and fitness. The occasional beer doesn’t hurt, just be sensible.

I am not an easy convert by any means and have a hardened cynical streak when it comes to stuff like this, but I have to say that the stretches and exercises become a great habit and have made a difference to physical and mental health. I feel more positive about myself in general, I don’t get as tired riding and the stretches and exercises are both energising and relaxing in turn.

Picture
Also, a plus is that you can actually contact the team to ask pertinent questions and get feedback. I found this helpful when first navigating my way around the handy dashboard and found out that what I wanted to input and how to do it.

It was actually very easy and simple, I was just doing it wrong. By recording your exercises it gives you a feeling of progress. Karl messaged me when I fed back that I’m not so keen on military push-ups that he had found my weakness! That personal touch was refreshing and quite funny too.

I would recommend this to anyone that wants to improve their fitness to ride and for their everyday life. My next ride was a lot easier despite being longer in length and time, I felt less fatigued, made less errors and really enjoyed it. I’m not saying it has made me a riding God by any means, but I can feel improvements that are noticeable and have made me a safer stronger rider.

Great training program that transitions you from easy to hard. The stretches have really helped.

Karl and the rest of the trainers very clearly show how to do each exercise, in the videos, which really helps. When appropriate to the movement being performed, they also demo easy, medium and hard.

This is a great help to moral to begin with and improve ones’ abilities as you progress to the more difficult forms of the exercise.

"I have to tell you something. This year, I've been mountain biking and riding my enduro bike. ZERO muscle pain post ride. So thank you very much for this great program. The spring workout regime was highly valuable. I came to realize that my goal is not about achieving a certain fitness milestone, but being able to continue with the offroad sports I enjoy. “
